Thanks for the pics, i like how you did that cap. Im considering just takeing everything out from the split seat back, then just lay a new sheet of aluminum down...I don't know how it would attach other that the sides though since i cant weld under the sheet of aluminum..rivets i guess?

Just messing with you.....

Hope it turns out like you want.....

The catwalk idea is a pretty good one though to keep
from weakening your transom and add functionality....

I love my catwalks - can't imagine a MM hull without them now....

If you're going to lay down a sheet over the whole back end of the boat for flooring, drill 7/16" holes and spot weld it to the stringers. It will be better than rivets and add a certain amount of rigidity (not much, but every bit helps) Id leave the edges open like in front of the split seats for gutters. Or you could run it all the way to the sides of the boat and stitch weld it to the sides. You could use a sheet of .100 or .125 for the floor.

I Bet those catwalks are nice. Did you have to cut a whole sheet of aluminum to add them?
