Hey everyone,
I had a two inch reciever style mount on the front of my old Gatortrax to mount my winch. On my new Prodrive I'm trying to decide on how to mount my winch, any suggestions? Pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Also anyone know a good aluminum welder in the Shreveport area that is resonable?

You have some 2" square tube on your winch mount?

Can into the pipe on the front of you boat and weld in a receiver to put you winch mount in.

Yep the winch is mounted to a plate that has a piece of 2 inch tubing welding to the bottom of it, that is a great idea I haven't even considered that.

I know one in Marshall TX. Poker may know of one in the S'port area.

Get into contact with Willet or Andy. They would be closer to you. Otherwise I use Little Joe's Welding N of Bossier.

I wasn't sure if you knew someone over a lil closer to him. Andy's number is 903-578-0108 if you want to give him a shout.

If your not set on a mount you could just use a chain to the eyes.

I did just like Poker. The good thing about that is you can winch from any direction.

Poker... What are the dimensions of the plate you have that winch mouted to? What brand of winch is it?

Mine is mounted under the front deck. I think it will work good. I just bought a cheap winch and it is burnt up after 1 pull.

Weston, how big and what brand?....i just ordered a 4500# promark..it wasnt much more than the smaller ones so i went ahead and spent it

That's a great idea poker. I think I might steal that idea for my gd. Gd has their winch mount welded on the front deck. Its a price of channel that's welded directly to the front deck but built a light bar and bolted it there.

Not sure on what winch I am going with, but my boat builder needs to know what size to make the mounting base. What dimensions do you guys suggest that would accomodate up the mounting dimension requirements of up to say a #4500 (6"x8", 4"x6")? This is the style of mount I am going with.

I did mine the same. Pipe has a plate welded on top then winch is bolted to that.

This picture you can kinda see how it mounts. The white is a poly bushing spacer I made to keep it up off the front deck and what not. I cut the poly down since pic I made it at work and was just testing it in pic.

That's what I do. You can chain it anywhere and pull I'm the direction needed.

Got bored and went out to the shop and made one. Don't know why I havnt made one before now.
