So I am taking a drive to Miller's Saturday to look at these two boats, both hulls have a GTR 35 motor. Boat sizes will be GT 1756 Extreme with removable rod box, gator grass camo, and rear deck for around $20k out the door and a Sea Ark mud runner 180 with timber running package, shadow grass camo, and gun box for around $18k out the door. Perks for GT. - Its a GT, great reviews - Personally like the camo better - Rear casting deck - Rod holder, guns or fishing rods Cons for GT - $ 2k more than the Sea Ark - 1 foot shorter than Sea Ark - Believe there is no wiring for trolling motor (not sure) - No swamp lights Perks for Sea Ark - 2k cheaper - 1 foot longer - wiring complete for trolling motor - Timber running package (lights and pointed bow) - storage in the front and back Cons of Sea Ark - not many reviews on the hull - Shadow grass camo is not my favorite - 2 inches narrower than GT - Gun box is good but cant hold fishing rods in it - no rear deck, not even sure if I want it though I do believe both boats will be good for what I will be using them for, hunting, fishing, and camping and both are great sizes. GT does not have anything in stock and will take around 12 weeks to build something, which is a little longer than what I want to wait to go fishing. I will let you know what I think when I get home Saturday. Feel free to comment, but please don't bash one or the other unless you have been in one. If so why you like or don't like the boat. |

I like the Sea Ark boats when paired with an outboard. If you want an honest opinion about angling & hunting from these boats then shoot me a PM and we can talk. |

They also have a 1746 GT there with no hunt deck for about 14 I think. |

I bet the gt boat is longer than the sea ark, don't the hunt deck count for another 16-18 inchs? |

Sea ark does make a very fine hull.... For an outboard. I would be skeptical of their mud hull just based on how new they are. Gatortail is time proven. Hunt deck is part of the length. |

Don't get a boat your unhappy with, call gt and tell them exactly what you want, or get a custom boat that's as good or better for cheaper! If you like the sea ark and want a rod box make them put one in! |

I know of a Sea Ark hull that is being rebuilt by the factory right now because the owner "used in on open water, which is not what it is designed and built for" and the floor came apart, pulling all the bracing with it. No way in Hell I'd buy one after knowing that. $20k for a 1754 Extreme sounds high. 1754 - $4500 Extreme - $1635 Camo - $675 Acc pkg 2 - $640 trailer - $1685 rod box - $397.50 35 GTR - $6995 Total - $16,527.50 |

Thanks Team Camo. I wont be making that mistake. I might look at the GT 1746 without the hunt deck, it in my price range and I wont have to drive or wait 12 weeks for a boat. |

I bought a sea ark mud runner from millers a month ago. It runs great and I don't have any complaints. my buddy, the owners gradson, got a mud runner last summer before they started to carry them. I have hunted out of that boat and he has taken it flats fishing for the last year. No problems so far. The main thing that made me go with the mud runner was the rear seats and front timber deck. I like the configuration and storage. Plus the price was less. Sea ark makes a quality boat and the customer service is good. Millers is one of the largest dealers of sea ark in the country and I know sea ark goes out of their way to cover millers customers. I don't know the sea ark people personally but Brett, grandson, goes up to Arkansas every year and duck hunts with them. He has had nothing but good stuff to say about them. |

thoe prices are steep! Just sayin. so is Miller's making 35-4000$ per boat? At that kind of money, I would wait 12 weeks. |

Miller's has definitely priced themselves out of selling me a GTR. Lamarr Cox at FL Mud Motor wants a lot less for a new one. |

ShawG on here runs the Sea Ark, and I believe that he has been quite happy with it... Maybe he will chime in- I opted to go through miller's because they are the closest to me, and it worked out that Bubba was there for their boats show, with meant a lot to me in regards to getting questions answered on the spot instead of going back and forth. When it is all said and done, may have paid a few bucks more, but worth it if I have any "issues" down the line...$.02 |

Makes sense. Any idea if Miller's is going to do service/repairs to GTRs and if so, who is going to be doing the work? |

Not sure about who would do repairs- I'm assuming, that I will try and get the lawn mower taken care of locally, but in case GT manufacturer stuff, then I have a mouth piece. First of all, I don't expect to have any issues, and have no doubt that if I did, that they would be handled, but I just cover bases and spread the wealth! |

I'm new to this forum and found myself in the same situation trying to decide whether I should go with the gt cc or the mudrunner 180 cc with the 37 efi gtr. I will be using the boat mainly for flats fishing bow fishing and hunting. My concerns are with the craftsmanship of the hulls. I went to millers and looked at the mudrunner 180 and the gtr extreme.. After all the good I've heard about gt and bad I heard and seeing for myself I'm still confused on which boat to go with. The welds on the gtr are less then impressive and the mudrunner seems to have a better finish imo. I'd like to talk to some of you more experienced guys To see what kinda input yall have good or bad. Thanks in advanced |
