I notice some builders leave rough welds at the seam between the side panels and the bottom versus sanding those out smoothly. I presume this is done to preserve a good, watertight seam. I don't think its expediency, or is it?

I grind mine. I think it looks cleaner. It's welded inside and out so leaking shouldn't be a concern

Damn iPhone and fat fingers. Finished paint last week also and started rigging this week. Just picked up hydro turf and hopefully get that in this weekend. It really testing my patience not to cut corners and just get it in the water, but I'm trying. Here is a couple pics after a set motor on it.
