I had an Atlas with 90hp Merc on it, worked perfectly, never had an issue with it, zero maintenance. I believe it had nylon risers so no grease was needed. Had plenty of travel. All I got, not an expert...

Bob's Machine also makes a good self-contained plate.

FYI, you can order the Bob's plate through Boatdr and have it drop shipped to your door.

I don't like Detwilers because as you jack the motor vertically, setback changes. The higher you run the motor the less setback you have, which is opposite of how you really want it.

Stainless Marine in South Florida makes a very heavy-duty jackplate for high performance, high HP applications that offers 7" of lift and were standard on Lake & Bays forever. It's a great plate but pricey.

Bob's are tough to beat (I have a 10" setback) but the guys I know who have Atlas plates really like them too. As I understand it, the Atlas plates use standard Mercury trim motor so parts availability is pretty easy.

My last 2 were bobs and now i have an atlas. My complaint with the bobs was having to constantly grease it. No issues with the atlas so far
