"Yall" should have an apostrophe. Mispronunciation must be a GT thing...

I wonder if this cost guard exempt / approved will affect me trying to get a boat from down there into Canada and registering it? I guess another hoop to jump thru for me if I want to get a boat from one of the builders on here. It would really suck if I bought one brought it across the boarder and then find out that I can't register it. Guess I would have to just pay the fines each time I got caught lol.

Hell we need a boating course and license to run anything that is not electric up here now. If you are going off shore you need a special course that is I believe 2 or 3 days long.

Later
Phil

I have learned this from assisting my bank in loaning money for these rigs. With the cost guard approval exemption what ever, it allows the manufactor to show up in some systems the bank use when deciding financing. Without anything from the coast guard (homemade rigs) it makes it harder for the banks to loan money cause its not recognized in their system. The good old days of a hand shake and signature for loans are fast becoming a thing of the past its all about the money. Now if gator tail and the rest would get in the Nada game it would be a lot easier to make loans on these rigs.

Missle

U loan money to the bank? Did I read that right?

Post subject:  Re: GatorTail's

Unfortunately I would guess that none of these manufacturers are going to show up in my financial institution here in Canada. I will just be taking a personal loan out that I can draw cash out of as I need it. For the motor I am sure I can call who ever I choose and just give them my visa and then transfer the cash back over.

I think there is going to be a few logistical things for me to jump thru to get a custom boat built and brought back into Canada. That is why I am kinda of researching designs, builders and motors so early. I do plan on driving to where ever the boat is and hauling it home across the boarder myself, make a trip of it and see some new country and meet new people while I am at it. Time line is still a bit undecided at this point in time.

Thanks
Phil

No since my bank knows me and knows I mess with mud boats they started calling me when people come in for loans on one. I help get them a value for the boat. Like the other day they were trying to value a gator tail rig looking at numbers from an old Cajun bass boat. Lol
