Post Wiring thin wire
So I got some cheapy led strips for my buddies boat. We tried to wire them up but the wire on these strips are super thin..
A) what gauge should I be using to connect to the strip
B) how do I connect the two? Without electrical tape!

Not sure if its the best way but...I stripped about 3/4" of the thin wire. Then I folded it 3 times so it would fit in a butt connector and I could make a good crimp.
BTW I used 14g .

Either a reducing connector or a terminal block. You could also solder them together and cover the splice with marine shrink wrap.

Look at scotch locks that's what I call them wired my old duck boat with them works from 19 gauge to 24 it's a telecommunications way of connecting telephone lines ... I do believe Home Depot will have them or your local hardware store they are filled with jelly so you won't have to worry about corrosion either hope that helps
