Hey guys...make sure before you launch your boat that it is NOT frozen to the trailer and will slide off the trailer instead of dunking it and then flipping it. |

Not me. A buddy of mine. I was by the other trucks putting waders on when it happened so I didn't see it happen. I only seen the result. Two guys tossed into the water soaking wet from head to toe in 18 degree weather. No one was injured or hypothermia. Quick thinking and actions prevented that. just make sure it is not frozen to trailer or launch it empty with a bow line. |

Just curious if the bottom was painted with any slick coating? |

This happens quite often up here... we spray the bunks of the trailer with WD-40 each time we pull the trailer out of the water when it cold. Just spray the hell out of them. It keeps it from happening as bad. The downside is that it collect dust from the road... but its better than stuck to the trailer. |

I have gator glide on the bottom of mine and it was stuck to the trailer this weekend. I thought someone was trying to be funny with a strap. First time I've ever seen that happen. I can't wrap my mind around how you would flip one as a result. |

Same thing happened to me this weekend! I was in North Louisiana and the boat stuck to the trailer and water came over the back end of the transom. Nearly sank me!!! So the next morning undid the straps and broke the ice on the bunks/boat before going down the ramp and then in the process of backing down the boat ended up on the concrete it was definitely a FML moment! Btw I have gg also |

It funny I should see this post today. This morning at around 0430 Im was backing a buddy's surface drive rig into the water when I happened to notice the trailers lights drifting to the left in my mirror. I stopped and confirmed with him that the trailer was unstrapped from the boat. He said "yes why?" Cause the trailer is floating. We sat there fir 30 min or so trying to separate the boat from trailer. Then pop it came loose. Was 13° on lake this morning |

That happens here often as well.. When it gets cold I back in the water and then get my waders and other clothes on.. Till iam ready it's usually thawed.. if not all I have to do is push side to side and it comes free with ease... |

I was frozen on the trailer Fri and Sat morning and had to back in a couple times & shake the hell out of the boat from side to side to break it loose. Everyone says how could that happen, they don't know what they are doing etc, etc. As the first person in the water with the guys who flipped it, I knew what happened but couldn't do anything for them except help get them upright & on the trailer. I had just launched & was waiting for my dad to park the truck. I was right next to the guys. Barnes, not sure which guy you were but was proud to see everyone trying to helps the guys that certainly had the worst hunt that day. Everyone set aside the rush to get to their hole and tried to help. That is the way things should be. |
