Thinking of putting a 27 hp pro drive on a 15/48 weldbuilt flat bottom. I know it's not the ideal setup but it is what it is right now. what kind of sppeds can i expect with 2 adults, dog, decoys and other hunting stuff ? or would i do better with a long tail ?

Spent all day yesterday in a 15/46 xpress (three bench model and a gun box, with .080" thick hull) with the 27 kohler, 3 people, guns, and gear (no decoys) ran 20+ all day. Hopped up on plane no problem, running hard bottom about 6-8 inches water. Maybe that helps give you an idea.
