Post subject:  Poling platform issue

Just recently bought a GTR 35 for my 16x48 hull and poling platform will not fit on boat due to height of motor. Anybody have any suggestions or came across this same scenario? My first idea was just to drill through some 2x4's and mount it that way but I wanted to use either alum rectangle tubing or steel. Already tried the search feature

Get aluminum and make yourself a spacer. Any aluminum shop can help you out.

The poling platform may have been for a short transom motor?

Yes originally the boat was a short transom model that I had gatortail build up.

Ended up just cutting some 3/4" MPI tubing and making some 4" spacers.

Do you have any pics of your set up? I'm interested in building something along those lines.

This is what my boat looks like, I don't have one with poling platform on it.
