After a lot of thought and consideration. I have decided to go with a prodigy 1854 boat. I looked at gator tails , gator trax, pro drive and excell boats.
I just like the prodigy better. Chad taking the time with me. To be sure I got the boat I wanted is what sealed the deal for me. Great guy.
Can not wait to get it.

They have great looking boats. When the time comes I'll be getting one of my own with the same dimensions...what motor you putting on it?

I am leaning towards the 45 black death, But am thinking about the 55 mag. I want something reliable. I don't need a rocket but do want to be able to get on top with a hunting load.
Thought about a gtr with reverse and stage 2. But I hardly use reverse in my out boards. Besides I am putting a bow mount trolling motor on it. I can use that for picking up decoys. I normally run shallow water. But hardly ever less than 8-12 inches.

What all are you getting on that new Prodigy? I've got the same hull with V rake and just love it.

hybrid front, cat walks, spud poles, extended front deck , rod box, led interior lights, led nav lights, hydro turf, led spot light. some cup holders,{most important} Some storage boxes in the cat walks, bilge pump, couple of seat bases in the back third of floor, Really not a lot of stuff. I like a open plain boat.

Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

Ought to be some pictures of my 1748 showing up soon on his fb (waiting on paint, i believe, I havent seen completed pics yet).

It's got the basics and a few conveniences. Leds, 6" catwalks, storage up front, extended deck for the fuel to hide under, gunbox in the back, angled box and back catwalk for the driver to sit on, spud poles, anything else will just get discovered in the pics. Im glad he pretty much finished the boat before he started test driving forklifts :D

What I already have. I have a 27hp sd that's going to call it home for this year. If i change my mind before October then I'll sell that motor and get a 35 (I already know I'm going to want a 35 on it, but I already have the 27, and am not interested in spending another 7500+ this year). For now, the 27 should suit me just fine. I have a 25hp LT on a 1644 as well (well used, just now broken in), so I'll be good for this year and just upgrade next year.

Yea I've got a 36 Prodrive that I'm putting on mine. It's gonna be 1748 pointed bow, sport deck, enclosed catwalks, extended front deck and built in fuel tank, shark eye LEDs, rear bench catwalk, recessed floor bracing, all 3/16, bottomland paint, g2 gator glide, and full turf throughout boat. that's pretty much everything.

Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

I've had my 1854 since November it made the fb page several times. It's the "hulk" boat with green LED's. Loaded with options. I'm running a home built BD 45 with a cam and she runs 33.3 all day deep water no load, 30 loaded up deep or shallow. You won't be sorry you went with the Prodigy, that's a fact they are bad ass boats.

Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

Is that a 3/16 boat or 1/8 in boat?

Author:  DmaxHunter [ Mon Feb 10, 2014 6:05 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

Smoke is 1/8, mines the 1754 loaded to the gills! 1/8 is marsh tuff 3/16 stump tuff serious, i have stringers in mine though

Those are some good looking boats ! Might be my next rig

Author:  NORTHFLORIDAFOWLER [ Mon Feb 10, 2014 6:34 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

i was gonna do 1/8 in with extra stringers, but as many stumps as i hit it im gonna go with 3/16, know it will still hook just not as bad... some of the places i hunt i hit 15 to 20 stumps going to the spot and that many going back out....

Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

Understandable, when i ordered mine he hadn't started doing stump tuff yet.

Chad has got to be the most customer serviced oriented man I have met in a long time. That alone is worth doing business with him.

I actually just bought Chads 1854 that he had on here. I will be picking it up next month. Can't wait to run that sucker once the 18" of ice melts away off our lakes. It's my first boat so I am stoked.

IMO he's building the best looking boats out there. I know a few guys now that are selling their boats to get on his list.

What is the difference between a sport deck and a hunt deck?

Author:  nasty [ Sun Feb 16, 2014 9:13 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

Hunt deck is full width of the transom, sport deck is just the corners of the transom.

Author:  DmaxHunter [ Mon Feb 17, 2014 8:17 am ]
Post subject:  Re: New prodigy boat

Interested to see how Chad builds a sport deck. Bet it'll look sick, i assume your going sport deck for the pd correct
