Post Excel boat hull thickness question
I'm fixen to purchase a new excel boat and they sell a lot of the 100" thick hull. I've always had 125" thick hull and never had a problem. Do you guys think the 100" thick hull will hold up good?

Do you run stumps? Jump levees? If no the 100 is fine.

Spent many years in a .080 that wasnt build as well as even an excel. Like eljefe said, if you aren't running stump fields or jumping levees normally, the .100 built with the log bracing, and better welds would be fine. It all depends on the use.

.100 is not bad. The problem is the cross bracing. I know people that have those .100 halls and use them for years. I had one for a year and did not put a dent on it. I was always afraid of hooking it. It just takes one big dent to ruin a boat. With the .125 you have muchless to worry about.

I had a 100 gauge excel and hit something underwater and it ripped open like a coke can.
