short vs. tall---hunt deck vs. longer boat
i think these work together, let me speak on.
a hunt deck in all reality is a longer boat- 16x54 with 2 foot hunt deck would be an 18x54 bottom, right?
now the tall vs. short
do ya think a short motor pushes better than a tall motor?
my thinkin would be that force from a short motor would be closer to the bottom of the boat where the drag is. something in my mind says that that would be more efficient, or at the very least cause less fituge on the transom. maybe not the case.
if that is the case then a 35 on a short transom would be a good reason for a hunt deck, due to back wash.
if its not the case a tall motor on a hunt deck seems like a waste of possible space.
the exception is if you use the hunt deck for a dog or entry to the boat. in that case the hunt deck would make total since.
the hunt deck is a very sexy addition to any boat. and would almost be a mandatory on a short motor.
guess my main question is which motor tall or short pushes better? or is there no difference? and or does a hunt deck do anything for the preformance of a boat given we are talking the same bottom area?
