I'm considering calling go devil and having them add the polling platform to my rig. Do you guys enjoy using them?
The only reason I am hesitant is because of the bridges in Theriot's canal. I would have to take it off every time I went to Lake Bouef.

Why would you use them?

I had one on my gd boat with gdsd and it hit when turning. If u launch in tight canals like some near lake des allemands it is a pain in ass to load back on trailer

I thought about building one for my new boat, but decided against it. Run alot of woods, go under alot of bridges. To me it wouldnt be worth it. Would be nice for what your talkin about, strappin stuff too.

I have one on my Go Devil and love it. We use it mostly for bowfishing the river. It is a bitch getting through the woods with low hanging limbs and had a few bridges that I barely made it under. It does shorten your turn radius. Sometimes I sit on it when I drive for better spotting of stumps. Its really only matters if you will get more use VS the cons. I don't regret mine at all. If I need to remove it, there is only 6 bolts and the platform does not weigh much. Hope this helps.

Have one custom made that is easily removable like maybe pinned on and sits farther back than the GD stock one. Somewhere on here there is a long thread with a bunch of pictures of poling platforms.

I use mine to hunt redfish and love it. During duck season I use it to scout and handle the dog in the broken marsh looking for cripples. Only time I hate it is when I am using my boat blind.

Get a removable polling platform. That way you get the best of both worlds
