Me and fowllife08 are gonna build me a skiff. 1842 with 24" sides. Any advice on building this? Also pics of your build would be great. Going to run a 20 long tail for now and later on upgrade to a 35. |

More less looking for advice on the rake. I did a little reading and they said 10" rake. How are yall measuring that? |

If you worried about looks, I wouldn't do 24" sides. IMO |

Look at weldbilt crawdad boats. The are like a hybrid between a bateau and skiff. Why do you want a skiff? Sent from my beeper |

I want it to cut through lilies vs. ride over them. I seen a skiff this year destroy the lilies simply because he split them. I got stuck on some and it was like pulling my boat across the grass. |

That last one is a good looking boat. Be sweet with a smooth bottom. |

Find a Charles Lenard and make you one like that. Havent been in any other but hands down performing in Lilllies that Skiff performs well. I went with a buddy Saturday night in his and man can that thing go through some shit. Impresses me every time I sit in it. |

I'm hoping the narrower front will help. And if it dont, gator glide the bottom and hang a 35 on it. |

I don't like the high sided skiffs. I'd go as low on the sides as safely possible. I think mine has like 12" of rake if I remember correctly. |

I think the hybrids look good. For someone like me who runs timber a lot, but have absolutely no need for a skiff, it's a great design. |
