I can't and won't try to answer for him, but I always like to know myself. It's easy to calculate how much lift you can get based on bottom length and width. You also can know how much weight you're trying to carry. The wildcard are the different boats' weights. With boat weight, you can calculate draft when stationary. You then have a pretty good idea what kind of lift you need to create (with thrust/power/whatever term you wanna use and bottom surface area) to as efficiently or effectively as possible carry the load to your satisfaction. |
