I hunt the same places you do. Had a 19' roughneck with a 50 until I was rear ended two years ago. Always wanted a mud motor so I found a used 27 gdsd, but my insurance did not pay enough on my old boat so I could not get a mud boat. Picked up a 17x48 bass tracker. It is slow. Pushes an extreme amount of water away from the prop. Get 17mph empty 2-3 people and decoys about 8-10mph. I have some cash now and am looking for a true mud hull. The gdsd works great unless you are in the hard bottom areas then it will do nothing for you. Creeks, rivers, stumps awesome. Best advice get at least a 35hp and a mud hull.
