I been thinking long and hard about what size boat to put a MB 45 mag on...I like the gator trax hybrid boats and I'm stuck deciding in the direction of the 16x50, 17x50...doing my research you want a boat size to match your motor any help or info would be appreciated

Long and skinny does best with MMs in most situations. 1750 is a great all around size for 3 guys or less. Just remember that if you add a hunt deck to a GT hull it adds to the total length of the boat

How many guys will you have hunting MOST of the time? Be honest here, it'll benefit you down the road.

I had a 45 MAG on a 17/50 Gator Trax (18.8" overall)and it would haul the mail all day long with one man or four. The shortest in length I would go is 17 overall. If you go narrower than 50" I would shoot for at least 18' minimum.

I would be more concerned with getting the right size boat for the water conditions that you run in, as well as what size load you intend on carrying than what motor to match it to.

If I hunted 2 most of the time, I think I would have got the 1650 HD. It's basically an 18' boat. As it is, I like my 1750 HD for comfortably hunting 3 or 4 grown men.

Whatever you decide, the 45 mag will push it just fine.

I hunt 3 big guys in my 1650 hd gtrax all the time if I am not standing by a tree. 4 is not bad. I will probably go 1750 on my next boat. Either way the 45 mag will perform well.

Thanks for the feedback y'all...when hunting the most I will bring is 3 ppl avg weight of maybe 225 but if I'm just going fk around I might load up 5 ppl with a full ice chest....I hunt mostly marsh and swamps but I do have to cross a nice size lake on some days that's why I'm going with the hybrid but I want it to also perform like a beast in the mud and shallow water when I come across it

any more comments?

I hunt 3 sometimes 4 out 1852 and have plenty of room for another person.
