 Golight vs LED flood
Building a new boat and debating between a golight or a permanent headlight. What do you guys prefer! Pics of builds would be awsome!

Gator Trax makes them. I only use it when I'm going somewhere new and unfamiliar with the area.

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
I was looking at doing the golight/navigation light stantion mount but wasn't sure if that would b enough light. But figured the golight would b handy for setting decoys.

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
You won't use it for setting decoys. Too much work moving the light around. Headlights are enough.

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
Go lights are too concentrated. I think you'd be better off with flood lights.

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
So concensus is golight sounds good but to concentrated for flying thru the marsh at 3am?

I have a 10" ridgid and like it. Use the search feature. There is a ton of info with everyone's opinions on the subject.

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
I had a 20" light bar on my last boat, and a pair of duallys on my new rig. I prefer the bar because them damn dual keys don't ever seem to point the same way. Not bad enough to matter really but it bugs me the lights always being slightly cock eyed

 Golight vs LED flood
HID off brand go light with two 4" flood LEDs.
Or
LED go light with 2 - 10" flood LED light bars and one single 4" LED flood (don't really need the single but looks cool)
Here is pic with just the floods on, thought I had one with go light on as well but guess not.
The LED go light is almost is bright as the HID but HID shoots a little farther.

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
I've run only a HID go light on a stanchion mount for 5 years and keep one hand on the throttle and one hand in my pocket on the remote and just pan back and forth to make sure I'm not going to hit anything.
Also like it for running trails or creeks or rivers because you can pan it toward the curve before you actually get to it. Then we started doing HID go lights and two 4" flood lights on customer boats just so can see up close better and use the go light to "search" or pan back and forth as I call it

I'm a big fan of the hard hat lights. Just turn your head to see what you need to see. One hand on the throttle and the other hand free.

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
Also HATE wearing a hard hat while working so dang sure dont want to wear one while riding in the boat. They don't sit good on your head with a beanie and sweat your ass of with one on during summer

 Re: Golight vs LED flood
Yeah good points Willett. I don't like the shine off the sides of lights up front, but if you build a box around it you eliminate that.
