I'm about to paint my alweld with Duralux aluminum boat green. I understand the prep and process of doing this. Everyone says to roll it because the product won't spray. What kind of and size rollers do I need? I brush the nick and crannies and strakes? Thanks |

Spray it with a wash down gun then have someone roll it while it's still wet. Painted many hard to get spots on drilling rigs that way. |

Try not to thin it much. The finish won't be as durable if you use too much thinner Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oh, I thought you couldn't thin it from this post...how far does the paint go? 1/2 gallon or what for a 16 foot boat? |

I don't know about Duralux, but I used Pettit Shipendeck to paint my boat. Sprayed 3 coats on the inside and the outside. Used 3 quarts. However, I did not paint the floors or the front deck. Like dfou said, the Duralux will not be as durable if thinned. The Pettit sprayed pretty easy without thinning. Plus you get a better finish by spraying IMO. |

Buy a hvlp gun with a 2.5mm tip. U won't have to thin it much. About 50 bucks on the web |
