Well finally after 4 months shes ready for paint. Got her washed down with acid today. And about to start the stages. Question is what primer is the best as far as an etching primer. I saw a few in the cans at lowes. The automotove primer i beleive. Will this work on aluminum? Thinkin 2-3 light coats? |

Guidry's Hardware has what you need, I painted my boat in 2010 with Mobile Duck boat drab green and salesman sole me the primer[don't know the name it's white and cheap also was the duck boat green paint] It don't come off at all. the plastic guides on my boat rubs hard and the plastic pipe stays on the gunnels. I also buffed the boat before the acid wash. |

It comes in a gallon but you will use only 1/2 gallon, that's putting 4-5 coats. |

Back in the day when I painted a boat every now and then I found that Duralux Duck Boat Green was the absolute best choice. No primer needed. Always held up extremely well. |
