Considering design/building boat
Just bought my 3rd mud motor (35 sport with marshmellow) last week and instead of looking for a hull, I think I've decided on having one built hear locally by a friend who's family has had a reputable welding company for 25 years. My buddy thinks he can handle the task and I think he can but just wanted to see what input I can get from here..seems to be quite a bit of experience floating around. My plan is to have him build a 18/50 with a huntdeck, .125 thick, w 20 inch sides. Open floor plan with prob a 5 ft deck and one pod in back. Maybe one gun box. Like I said, my buddy hasn't built a boat but can build anything he says and I've heard the same from others. Gonna go with tapered chine. Where do we start rake? What's transom angle need to be? All questions we'll figure out somewhere but hopefully somebody will cough up some expertise. I'm new to this forum but this is my 2nd Mudbuddy so I'm not a complete rookie.
