I'm moving to Houston for work and I am looking to purchase a boat in the near future.

What would be a good multipurpose boat for fishing the flats and out in the bay for reds and using for duck hunting?

Is there a type of hull I should be looking for or when any mod-V hull work for both? I'm new to the coast and new to mud motor world so any help would be great.

I would start with a reputable boat builder. Their are several on this forum . WC Custom Boats would be a good start.

Get a true mud motor hull and I'd prob go with a 1754 that's a good all around size.

Mod V - No Bueno !
No USCG Floation - No Bueno Too !

18 x 48 is the basic best overall size hull for a MM rig...

I can help you get a test ride or two in a GD rig if you want - or you
can jump in my GD 1844 with 36 GDSD and take a ride....

that sounds great. Id like to test ride in a few before I buy one. I won't be moving to Houston until around middle of June or early July. I'll definitely wanna take a ride then.

Either Katy area or Sugarland. My fiancee got a teaching job in Katy so we'll probably stay close to that area.

In Lake Bouef ride the GTR's were getting pulled out by prodrives on more than one occasion. Y'all mother fuckers own a good motor but it is not a tank. Y'all get stuck too.
