My new build from Pete is well on its way. We communicate daily on the details of this boat. The great thing is when I come up with an idea Pete listens and tells me his thoughts. Then we discuss alternate options and decide on the best viable solution. One thing about it-- it is my custom built for what I do. I thought I wanted seats in the back and Pete explained that while they look real cool they don't work for operating the boat. I have no clue why someone wants a seat they cannot sit in while operating their boat. I will have a custom dog ladder, a custom boat cradle for my duck boat and a custom cat walk storage with tie downs under one side because that's what I need. If you need something custom that is not a cookie cutter Pete is the guy. Soon I will post pics. But currently it is work in progress. The pics shared so far are awesome. Thanks to all that pointed me in this direction. Soon I will appoint myself as a WC Custom All star pro staffer. This boat is unbelievable. |

Thanks guys. Another cool benefit is that when we discuss options Pete sends me CAD drawings so realize the spatial relationship. I had no idea I would be getting blue prints showing every stringer and exact measurements pretty impressive!! |

People say I am hard to get a hold of and I agree but this is just one main reason why. When building a boat like Marks it's not just trial and error and you have to think about every little thing. Not saying other guys don't build complex rigs but we have not built but a handful of "simple" boats in the last 2 years. And with boats that aren't "simple", instead of wasting time and aluminum, wire, etc on trying to figure it out on the boat, CAD is the next best thing. It may not be 100% to the T (usually within 1/4") on the drawing as on the boat but it makes it a whole lot easier in the long run when you can figure out angles before cutting and welding and hoping you laid it out right. |

I am working with Pete and he is building this boat exactly as designed on the CAD and described by me. The ladder is for both my dog to access as well as for me when the water is too deep. There is more really cool stuff in the works for this boat. Like it or leave it for you. It is exactly what I need for my Midwest duck killing marshes!! More to come. Nice looking rig, i'm sure you'll be happy with it. There are a few others out there building true custom boats to customer specs as well. I've heard nothing negative about WC customs, congrats. Enjoy your new rig........... ![]() |

It is 1854 all .125 I think Pete Said it will way around 650 without the 200 pound back water. Speed is really secondary to me as I make relatively short runs of 1/2 mile or so to go hunting. What is important is lugging all my hunting stuff. I will leave a case of shells, spinners, life jackets cushions.... In the boat all season. (Don't worry I do carry for those that want to help themselves) Pete did make me a glove box for my cell phone, wallet, registration... The light bar is what I drew up on scratch paper that allows 2 Grote (made in Indiana) LED work lamps to shine forward and 2 more to shine at 30 degree offsets on the front. Where I hunt I need be able to see to the front sides to find my way!! These lamps will illuminate over 300 yards!! ![]() |

That seems a bit light to me with all the storage compartments you have plus the full catwalks and extended front deck? I did notice you went without a full floor. If your going all the way with all the extra aluminum why not go with recessed floors so you don't have the ribs to trip over all the time? Other than that I like the layout of your boat. Oh and way to much storage for me. I'd loose stuff for the entire season if I had that many places to store everything! Again looks great. What color paint or camo? |

Who honestly trips over the ribs? How do you walk over the thresholds of buildings or houses you enter everyday? |

Post subject: | Re: A real custom boat from WC Custom |
I would. I'd have to recess them ![]() |

Tripping over ribs? I've got 10" catwalks that I plan on walking down. Not planning on tripping anywhere. Seriously I am a big guy and told Pete when I am waltzing around at 4:00 am in chest high waders I need wide walkways. So wide walkways I got. Since I have the walkways why not have the storage. All compartments keyed alike. Pete has some real cool ideas for switch panels and other custom features we have been discussing. The paint job will be a digital paint scheme using duck silhouettes for the digits. Custom made stencils. I will post up pics of paint samples-over the weekend. |

Don't sweat smoke, Kentucky mark. If it was a prodigy he'd love all the compartments and ask you why you didn't go with taller cross braces on top of the floor. ![]() |

I wasn't reading anything into anything, it was a joke, you big sensitive girly man...you take things I say way too serious. You're even more predictable than I am. And where do I pump every dFou boat made? Doesn't matter who builds the boat, if I like it I say so. If I don't I say so too. Plain and simple. There are some people who I think build a nicer boat than Daniel does. I'm not partial to any particular boat builder. Plenty people build a nice boat, including prodigy. Lighten up, Francis. Sorry for niqqering your thread OP, nice ride. I'm sure it'll fit you well. |

Guys some of you may not understand this but it is my soap and my peter. I will wash it as fast as I want too. All I know is I am looking forward to AKA chiming in. He cracks me up. And btw you can keep your prodigy a really did not start this thread for you to raise your pink Pom poms. I thought I would share some info about a real custom boat that has some unique features that Pete and I developed. Actually Pete has a brand new metal composition that he has just developed. It is super light. He is calling it aluminum. |

Kentucky, fine looking rig y'all put together. I like it. Those flush ribbed weld in floors are a doubled edged sword. I build a lot of them and am finishing up a 1748 righ now with one. It's nice and clean, but you can't ever get to the bottom or stringer to beat something out if need be in the future. Best of luck with the boat, and am looking forward to seeing it rigged and painted. |

Ive told you several times you had a great boat. I wasn't shaking any Pom poms. YOU HAVE a damn nice rig. Pete makes a hell of a nice boat. Your letting the ninjas get in your head. Don't let that happen. Ok I've apologized for what you believe I was trying to do. Now I'm off the thread. Mr. Willet if you are reading this you make some beautiful boats, I like the lines and the thought and innovation you put into all your boats. Plain enough for y'all to understand? |
