Okay guys, I'm looking at purchasing my first mud boat. I have laid eyes on several brands and researched until I am blue in the face  . I have come to realize that everyone has their favorites or brand they are particle to.

So, let em tell you what kind of hunting I plan on doing and then we will go from there on your opinions.

As of right now I live in Southeast Texas. I plan to hunt marsh about 75% of the time. The other 25% I may venture up to Sam Rayburn for Dam B. I want to hunt from my boat. I want a blind on the boat. I want to hunt on average 2-3 people. I would like to be able to get into some tight spots with this boat. At the same time I'd like to have a trolling motor strapped to the front to chase a few reds during the summer.

My question is what kind boat and motor do you guys recommend? As well as floor plan for the boat?

1848 boat with a 35hp surface drive of choice. You can choose the one that fits you best. I strongly suggest 1848. It has good speed and still fits in tight spots. That 1754 is bad ass and fast but not the best for tight spots. Do square or tapered chines. I run tapered chines and prefer it but most run and prefer square. You will never want to drive an outboard again once you get a surface drive.
