Joined the waiting list for an Instagator build. Jay is wonderful to work with and very knowledgable. The wait will be long but hopefully worth it.

What kind of wait are you looking at? Going with a big block motor?

i fish a horsepower restricted lake so I'm going the 25 GTR route with a 16.5x48 boat. He gave me a ballpark of december but its not a set date so it will be next year before its set up to my likings, I'm doing the painting and everything myself

I hunt in a 25 hp restricted area as well, but I called the game and fish commission and they told me it's 25hp restriction for outboard motors, and 35 hp restriction for mud motors. Might want to check in on that! I didn't know you could have a bigger mud motor till I called.

^^better call again .. If it's federal land you better be under 25 ,, I got checked everytime last year and warden even walked over to my boat while hunting and pulled out his tape to make sure I was within the 9" prop also

yea i threw a couple different things at him due to setting mine up for fishing and hunting. It should be badass when its done gonna have plenty of storage

Post subject:  Re: Now the ever so hated wait

What kinda storage are you doing?

He sent me this pic yesterday... I'm giddy

Post subject:  Re: Now the ever so hated wait

i saw that pic its gonna look good. Im going similar to luces old boat with a 6 ft front deck, gun box the full deck length. a recessed trolling motor pedal tray, and then an additional large storage box behind the trolling mtr tray and the gas tank will sit lengthways on port side under deck. then there will be a starboard side rear storage box that a drop in removable deck for the rear will attach to. ultimately i want a fishing and hunting boat with in 10 minutes so he's putting a receiver up front so i can have a light bar and a separate fish finder/graph bar and swap em out in a minute or so. Everything will be wired with quick connects. i really like that new v- bow he's doing though thought about asking him the price on it

That chine on it is definitely different, almost like a double or triple taper kinda look to it. Any insight you can let out about it Jay?

Well fellas Mr Jay knows what hes doing and has succeeded again. He delivered my Boat today and WOW!!! its something else. The new evolution chine scoots. its only been ran twice, but with 2 men battery and small gas tank its hitting the rev limiter on a stock GTR 25 with 1.3 hours on it. As jay said were gonna need to add some pitch to the ole prop. No GPS speeds yet, and may not run it anymore until i get it painted. Again cant describe how fast/ solid of a boat Jay makes, with some more hours and prop work i think it will be a super fast little boat. Although the wait was long the guy knows what hes doing. I will ad pics later and hope to do a solid review once i get it rigged out and painted. Oh and it s 16'7" by 48" bottom

Sounds awesome. I rmtalked to Jay earlier he sounded pleased. If you were blowing that modded hammer out I can't wait to see what it does with the right amount of prop.

Yeah i was impressed with it, need to have mine pitched but off to the paint booth first

That prop was off my old rig. It is a good bit more prop than the stock wheel. Plus it's stupid thick, that's why I wanted it, for the longevity.
