Been reading this forum for a while, and you guys have a lot of knowledge. I have about decided on Gator Trax 18/54 with Gator Tail 35.

whats your opinions on this rig? Boat is rigged and ready for me to pickup, but I have not pulled trigger yet.

SCduckhunter88, for some reason I can't reply to your pm. I have friends with Gator Trax, and I have driven them, and they turn fine and handle well from what I have experienced.

I was hoping someone with experience with this setup would chime in with their opinion.

Had the 1750 with the 35, good boat. Sold it and bought a custom...still waiting

Does it have a hunt deck? If so that's a big ass boat almost 28ft long. You will probably want to mod the motor

I have a 1754 hybrid hunt deck with a stock GTR35. Does fine with 3 guys (180,190,220), 80lbs lab, 3-4 doz decoys, blind, etc.

Gator trax measures to the transome, my 1750 was 18'6" long! Ran good with a 35. But if I had that boat back I'd go with the "black death" cause apparently it more theft proof

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah it has the hunt deck, and that makes the overall length 19'10". The boat dealer swears it will be a 30mph boat, but I'm not sure. Not that big a deal though.

Whats you guys opinion on the Prodigy boay?

What dealer is promising 30mph? With you being in GA and describing a rig that is for sale at a dealer in SC, I think I might know who you're dealing with.

Love my prodigy, can't go wrong with one. I doubt 30 it that gator trax, buddy is running a 1750 with huntdeck and stock 35 gtr 25 to 26 mph stage 2 hitting 29

I'm going to ride over to Prodigy shop and check their deals out before I do anything, since I'm so close to them.

No way that boat is seeing 30mph with a stock motor unless it is being pulled behind your truck.
I have a 1750 and love the boat and they take big water really well but you may see 26-27mph with just one person in that large of a boat. They are not built for speed.

Had a 17x50 gator trax with hunt deck with 35 mb than GTR. Stage2 sold it now waiting on custom build.

I agree with you guys, I don't think it will hit 30mph either, but its not that important to me. I just want a good solid rig that the motor will push good.

My 17/54 gator Trax is a solid rig. It is heavy and not real fast but it does pretty well. That dude is straight up lying to you if he says a stock 35 will push it 30 mph. It will run around 25 empty 20 loaded. That rig will haul a load tho. Know DAT!

You mentioned prodigy... I like my gator Trax but if I were to get another hull it would be a prodigy!

Yeah the Prodigy looks like a solid boat. I am going to check them out for sure.

I have an 18/54 Gator Trax with huntdeck and GTR35. Love the rig, but it is a big boat and is not a speed demon. 3 ppl and gear I am getting about 23 24.
