I mounted my buddys one inside his boat about 2 months ago and so far so good! I used Devcon to mount it and it seems to be working pretty good for shooting threw 1/8 aluminum

You are using a shoot through transducer in an aluminum boat? When you say it works ok... What exactly do you mean?

I have tried mounting the reg transducer in my boats and it would shoot through 1/8 but not through my 3/16 boats. Now on the 1/8" bottom it would read depth pretty close but it wouldn't scan structure very well.

I had one of those on my old boat. Worked fine at around 5 mph or less. Won't read much higher than that.
