 Odd to me Why don't these motors have pull starts? Might be a retarded question but it seems like a thing you'd want if shit hits the fan.....?

Re: Odd to me The 23 hp has a pull start, but he cam has compression release system that makes it easier to pull. The 35Hp motors have too much compression to make it practical to pull start, I think.

Re: Odd to me ive seen a guy crank a 225 hp mercury optimax with the pull cord that comes in the bag in the top of the motor hood, surely you could pull a damn 35 hp lawnmower engine, of course the valves leak so bad from the factory its really only like 20

Re: Odd to me I'd sure like to have a pull start on my GTR25. Would give me more peace of mind. When I get my hull I'll probably keep a lawn tractor battery as a back up but that'll be a pain to remember to juice up periodically.

Re: Odd to me I agree, one thing I love about my 23. I have also heard of people pull starting 250 outboards in a bind. If you were stuck offshore I bet you would find a way to pull that sumbitch. It might not be convenient but would be great peace of mind.

Re: Odd to me I had a 200 horse Johnson with the pull rope under the hood. I beleive its to hang yourself with if you battery dies.
