Anybody got a preference for material when doing a boat blind? I've checked out the usual already fabricated stuff from Sportsman's Warehouse and the other sporting good stores. Some friends recommended checking out Mack's but I'm trying to do this on a cheaper budget and don't really want to pay for something to get shipped, especially if I get from hardware store or something like that. Any home made ideas or experiences? Going to be a 1748, frame will already be built and will be a fold blind. Appreciate the feedback ahead of time. |

I uses 1x1 aluminum square tubing and some aluminum flat bar. made it just like the cabelas northern flight blind but it will last a lot Longer. The cabelas blind is 400$ and I was able to get the aluminum for about 120$ Sent from da mud hole |

I bolted some c-clamps to hold it to the boat I had one out of 3/4 conduit but I didn't find it to be sturdy enought at wanted to sag in the middle and my boat is only 16' Sent from da mud hole |

I'll have the frame already built, it's taken care of. I'm talking about using burlap or the 3D camo stuff. |

It was 50$ for 3 panels I think they are 4'x4' I got 3 of those and 3 2lb bags of raffia if i remember right Sent from da mud hole |

The grass mats have been through 2 seasons and I gassed the raffia before last season. It's somewhat brittle but not bad I used the raffia as a filler seems to working ok. If I keep it out of the weather and dry during the off season I should get 2 seasons out of it Sent from da mud hole |

Another option is using the military grade camo netting with the net backing and metal rings and then either raffia or natural grasses on it. One thing I really like about it is you can watch ducks working from all directions through the netting so you dont have to have your face sticking out. Only problem with the camo netting is it likes to catch on things so its best to build your blind frame to fold up inside the gunwales if you run areas with lots of brush. |

Cordura nylon fabric. It comes in different thicknesses, and is waterproof and windproof. Lasts forever. You can find it in just about any camo pattern you want. But... you likely have to get it shipped and it isn't super cheap, but isn't expensive either. |
