Front cast deck and pods, build pics
So a couple weeks ago I borrowed my buddies boat... Hit a big ass rock with it and sank it in a remote Alaskan river. I was alone and it made for an interesting (long) night to recover it. The bottom of the boat where it meets up with the transom tore out. So I decided to go ahead and built him a set of pods (hides the damage), and a nice front deck as the other one was a rotted plywood setup. I TIG welded everything you see here Boat runs fantastic with the pods and a Mud Buddy 27 surface drive!

Re: Front cast deck and pods, build pics
Oops.. This is about 3 minutes after impact looking for a spot to beach it, started dragging bottom and stuck in about 10" of water. Bilge pump picked a fine time to stop working. I end up cutting the foam out of a throwable floatation device and stuffing it into the hole (there was 3 throwable devices on the boat already and plenty of life vests for all you safety minded folk). After I plugged the hole, I used my rubber boot to bail the water out.

You can actually see where the water is boiling up near the center brace on the transom. Left side.

Thanks guys- it was a fun little project. All I have is a TIG machine so some of the welds took forever to run lol
