Starting to throw some number together for getting my boat built, and im not sure what size boat i want to go with. What size is best for load carrying? Im considering 16x60. Maybe 17x52, 17x54, or 18x60. 18' is kinda long for me, but i want to be able to carry a load with stock motor for a while. Any ideas? |

Anything with a wide bottom will carry load better. 1860 will work good but be sure to run a longer out drive, will help push better |

Yes 17 16 18 foot whatever its the width that allows a wider surface area to skate more on top of the water Sent from my iPhone using |

No regrets on my 1860. Stable for bowfishing, runs awesome in shallow water. The only drawback is if you want to cut into some skinny holes. |

2048. Holds a load very well. No speed demon because of how heavy built it is. Sent from my beeper |

24x48 come ahead baby! You can load that bitch down and go, but to me the best all around boat to hunt with is 18x48 or 20x48 if you gig to carry fat ass people in your boat! Lol |

I have an 1848. I love how it turns and it is nice for hunting in tight spots. However, if I had to do it again I would get a 54 to 60 inch bottom. |

I have always heard that as well (especially from Giga) but have never seen it in person. I would say the Biggest thing is what all is in the boat to begin with. Bare bones anything will do well its just people want to load these fairly heavy boats down with storage and expect to do what a Jon boat and 25 outboard do and you can't have that type of expectation with these rigs and a stock 35 |
