| Post subject: | Minn Kota battery charger issue |
I bought a MK210D charger on my boat. Just plugged it in after going to the lake yesterday afternoon and it's showing that my starting battery (plug 2) is charging but it's showing a connection error with trolling battery (plug 1). I've checked and double checked but the connection is good. Any ideas on fixing? Has anyone had this issue with a charger before? |

Did u splice any of the leads coming out of the charger? Fuse good? |

Also I have killed my battery completely and my charger would show this. I had to charge it with another charger then it kicked in and started to charge from my on board mk210D |

How old is your trolling battery? Check fuse like stated above.. |

Now the question is how to check the fuse. Do I just pull the wire or does it twist off? Please forgive my newbness Battery is brand new and the wire hasn't been cut at all so I'm thinking fuse issue |

Twist and pull the fuse holder apart. |

If it is not the fuse.. Take your one that is not working and put it on the battery that is just to see if you can make it light up if it will, then it's your battery.. Only reason I say this I had the problem last year with a battery that was only 6 months old.. If the batteries are junk the charging system will not work.. |

just to be sure... the fuse holder is attached to the main chargin unit behind the cable that goes to the battery. Wanna make sure i'm pulling on the right thing. |

I mounted a mk battery charger too, had to use cutting boards to mount it to then the boards to the boat, charger itself shouldn't be touching the aluminum. Sent from my LG-P870 using Tapatalk |

update: after comparing front and back i learned i'm an idiot (shouldnt admit this on MMT) but i found the fuses and need new ones. should be charging this afternoon after i get some new 30 amp fuses. |
