Well I scored myself a fiberglass chapman pirogue it's in pretty good shape but needs new top rails well being here in the desert pickins are slim for wood only thing available is 2x4 Doug fur in the length I need my next grad idea is trex decking which I can get in length needed and is already the thickness needed I'm wondering if anyone's ever used the stuff or think it's a good idea it's waterproof and workable what do you guys think ??? Thanks for any input |

The way we fix those chapman's is to take a piece of 3/4 or 1" PVC pipe, ripe it and glass it in as an edge molding on the gunwales. It makes them stronger, it's clean and it's done for life. Justin |

I think chapman has something to replace the wood now. PVC does work good. |
