Post subject:  What Boat Poles The Best For Fly Fishing? Buying New Rig...

I'm buying a new boat/motor and leaning towards Gator Tail 1748 CC 18" sides with 35HP GTR.

My main question is what boat poles the best in shallow water? Gator Tail or Gator Trax Flats boat?

Does anyone have any experience poling these boats in the flats?

I will be using it:
50% Fly Fishing For Reds
40% Duck Hunting
10% Bow Fishing

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

The boat picture attached is what I have in mind but with added poling platform.

Thanks,
Brandon

Would that help it track better and straighter when poling?

Tough to get any flat bottom to track straight but I would think the more square chines will be a little better. Might see if you could get 2 runners welded on the bottom. 1/2 or 3/4" would probably be enough to help tracking a decent bit

Yea I'm going to see if they can add 2 runners for tracking.
