Pipe sizes for grab bars, racks etc.
I'm trying to decide on what size pipe to use for some things on my new build. I am thinking about 3/4" sch 40 for bow rails, but I am wanting to build a receiver system for pirogue racks, grab bar, blinds, winch, and spud poles. I'd like to use the same size pipe for all the receivers. I'm going to use 1" sch 40 (1.315 od) for my spud poles. I thought about using 1.25" sch 40 (1.380 id) for receivers for everything but maybe that would be too tight for the spud poles. Would 1" sch 40 be strong enough for a winch mount, pirogue racks, and grab bar that slips into my spud holes/receivers? I could use different pipe for just the two spud holes, but I still want to be able to put my winch into them. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've been using 1" schedule 80 for grab bars and push poles, I'd rather them not bend when my big ass puts pressure on them.

You could always make your winch mount with 1" steel pipe and everything else with 1" aluminum.

Re: Pipe sizes for grab bars, racks etc.
Thanks, I think I'm going to use 1.25" sch 40 for recievers, 1" sch 80 for my grab bar and racks, and maybe steel for my winch. Which gives me .065 of space so they should fit in snug. Do you think that would be too snug for spud poles in case I bend them? What would be a good size for bow rails 1/2" or 3/4"?
Thanks for the advice

I'd go 1" on bow rails.

These are a little larger than what I had in mind, but is that 1" or 3/4"?
