I am looking at getting a sd motor. Is anyone running a Weldbilt boat? I'm looking at getting a 1648. Do these boats perform well?

I have a 1648 weld bilt. It's not a mud hull but it is serving the purpose for now. I had a 23 gdlt on it then a 31 mud buddy sd and now a 35 gtr. It is very lite and will porpise at wot so you will probably have to do something about it. I would not run it in stumps though. I have no complaints but I will get a Gator tail boat as soon as I can.

what kind of speed do you get out of it?

I have a 1648sv weldbuild with a PD27 for a while now. Mid 20's light load, 21 loaded ready to hunt. its a good setup, but its not going to last if you treat it ruff. I am now looking for a hull that will hold up to the abuse.

I run a 1548 weldbilt with a 20hp Long Tail. V Bow and a very shallow V in the bottom. Not a "perfect" scenario but runs 20mph with just me light loaded and GPS'd at 17mph this morning ready to hunt. Does everything I need it to.
