Post Beavertail float pods?
Has anyone ever added the beavertail float pods to their boat. If so was there much of a difference with them on?

I've put some on and increased ride height in the rear but didn't gain much performance.

Your right about not having the right boat for a MM but that is ok and getting one part at a time is what a lot of guys on here do. Those pods will really help with holding the weight of a MM better and with backwash as well. As for performance, don't expect a lot right now. Get used to how a MM operates, assuming you haven't ran one, and when you get the new hull, then you will realize the true performance the MM will give you.

I think you will be glad you got the pods on that small of a boat.

Good luck and keep us posted on how it does for you.

POD'S Will help with flotation but majorly hinder the performance of any surface drive MM. Take above ^^^^^^^^^^Advice Learn how the run the motor/Boat combo

I have pods on my boat with a 35 beavertail SD.. I think it helps in skinny water. I run a lot of wild rice, cattails, etc. No mud flats but in my opinion it helps. Usually takes a bit to get going in shallow water meaning 6" or less but it won't slow down if you are already on plane. My 35 beavertail sd pushes my 1548 alumacraft low 30s with light load and probably 20-25 loaded. I want to get a MM with reverse and a true mud boat but for now mine will do just fine. Hoping the lakes aren't froze next week. Diver and northern mallards should be down in full force and with everyone deer hunting I will be all alone on the lake !!
