I built it. It sets real well in the water. At least it's what I like. Max speed 29.4 mph in deep water. 36hp prodrive with efi.

Good looking rig! Did you find a painter?

Stock efi from prodrive. 2 deals fell thru with the painting. They said "oh yeah I can paint it " then I showed them pics of rickys work that I expected of them and never heard back. So I don't know now what to do..any suggestions? ?

Do you know the preparation procedure on new aluminum? I think I could do it. Just don't want it to start flaking off because of a missed step in prep.

Lol no, guy that built my boat painted mine, it will make a year old and no flaking, only place missing paint is where it bumps up against shit, and I'm not anal about my paint job bc it's basically a fckin work boat, so I got a lot of scratches where paint missing lol

I DA sand with 220, acid etch/wash with aluma brite http://powerpressurewash.com/aluma-brit ... eaner.html, clean with a automotive surface cleaner due to a car guy telling me acetone can leave a film, etch prime with a stromium chromate primer, and then top coat with an industrial enamel after about 8 hrs of the primer being sprayed if you want to do things the best and most expensive way.
I have also 220 sanded, acid washed, degreased wiyth an automotive surface cleaner, epoxy primed, and top coated about 1 hour after the primer was sprayed and it has held great on a bumper for the past 5 yrs that hits lots of trees.

I sprayed 2 boats the other day after I prepped them with sanding, acid wash, surface degrease, and stromium chromate primed them. I used some automotive enamel OD green the military jeep restoration guys use that was 36 bucks off ebay, thinned it 25% with Xylene. The stuff is remarkable tough, then bought some camo stencils off ebay and rattle canned the camo over the base OD green enamel.

Why not get Ricky to paint it if thats the quality you want? Is his stuff real high? It is amazing looking product and I spend $300 in material on my cheapo paint jobs and could spend more if I clear coated like him.

It's 12 hrs one way to rickys. And that's either 4 trips or stay out there all week while he paints it. Kinda tuff to do either option..

I did not realize you we're out of state, I thought all members were Louisiana residents lol. Not saying my work was great, but the eBay stencils surprised me and I did it in 30 minutes in a hurry with good results and could of done a better job.
