I've searched for a while and haven't seen any pictures or topics on this. I see on Gator tail boats they have a piece of channel running longitudinal on top of the hunt deck I think. I don't see that on other builds, is it just below the hunt deck? I'm trying to figure out where to put my bracing in my hunt deck. I know this hunt deck is going to take a lot of abuse so I want to do it right the first time. Any pictures or advice would be appreciated. |

I put a piece of 1" deep channel as wide as the motor mount. Seems to work fine. Sent from my beeper |

That's what I was wondering, so I'm going to brace up the transom with 6" channel close to how I would do a normal transom and other than that piece of channel in your pic is there any other bracing or just plate with some gunnel material on the top edge? |

Over-engineer the support in that area, its the pivot point for the boat and will have a lot of torque on it- especially with a modded motor. |

Thanks, I might just use the 6" channel I have for the transom to run from the motor mount to the front of the hunt deck or I might just break out a channel 1" deep for a lower profile and to safe weight. I think I'm going to run some tubing across the front of the hunt deck also. |
