Anybody running a Gatortrax with an outboard?
I'm looking at getting a 1644 Gatortrax with hunt deck and outfitting it with a 25 hp outboard. Anybody running s similar setup? Pros? Cons?

Re: Anybody running a Gatortrax with an outboard?
I ran a 1644 gator trax with no hunt deck for two years. I'm having an 1850 built right now. Too many fat guys riding with me. Awesome boat. Will run 30. I had a 2 stroke 2 cylinder mercury/mariner with a 4 blade stainless prop. I have my current 1644 set up with an extended front deck, middle bench with live well and dry storage. The rear deck has a removable section for fishing. Feel free to call me. 985 969 4452

That's the only picture I can find with the 25. It had the 16" transom here. Gator trax built me to a 21 for the surface drive.

Had a push pole on it to see if it would fit. Never mounted it. I'm selling the 2012 1644 and 2013 galvanized trailer. Also have a duck blind for it also. $4500.

According to Kent at gator trax those hulls shouldn't have a steady diet of speeds over 30mph without the outboard package due too to much hull flexing. Not sure if he meant just in choppy water are not. I wanted a 60hp outboard on my 18x44 guide edition for when the whole family rides.

So there is more reinforcement in their outboard hull? I realize at a high rate of speed chop could get brutal but so is jumping levees going 20.

The extra bracing in the outboard package is for higher HP outboards. It's just extra bracing on the transom.

it's also extra bracing on the bottom of the hull to keep it from flexing so much. All the extra flexing at higher speeds can cause cracks.

They for sure add one or two extra longitudinal stringers with the Outboard Package. I compared my stringer spacing to another Gtrax the dealer had
