One of my buddys has a 14/48 skiff with a 20hp longtail. He is looking for the biggest motor that can put on the boat. He keeps insisting that he can fit a 35hp go devil surface drive on it. My question is that is it even possible? The boat use to have a 25hp GT on it before he bought it and that would push it almost 28 mph with 1 person. |

I've got a 15 foot boat with a 35gtr on it and it sits very low in the back. Its a little sketchy getting in and out of the boat and also when making sharp turns at the wrong speed and you have to ease out of the throttle. I'd just get a 25gtr its not all about speed with these boats. |

The 25 gtr is only like 20 or so pounds lighter than the 35. Get the 35 and put battery and gas tank in the front and get the 35 if he really wants to go that route |
