Picking up a 31.5" led light bar, it comes with just a 2 wire (red/black) pig tail coming out of it. I have a GTR boat with the factory switch panel installed. Do I just run the wires back to the switch panel and pick an unused switch to connect it to or does one go to ground and the other go to a switch. I was looking at the switches in the panel that arent connected to anything and only one prong is open, there are jumpers coming off the other prong on the switch going to something else.... I'm not much on electrical so any help is appreciated. |

Connect your red wire to the open prong on the switch and black to the negative on the battery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks wade, Do i just put a terminal ring on the black and nut it straight to the battery or do I need to splice into the main negative wire coming off of the battery? I guess its the same either way right? |

I'd do the least intrusive. Probably just put a ring on it and bolt it down. I wouldn't want to mess with the main ground. But yes it's the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

When I wired up my light bar I just tied it in to the navigation light wires under the front hatch. |

First off, Does that switch panel have a common +/-? If so just connect the (+) to the switch and the negative all the way to (-) on the battery. If it doesent have a common + and has two spades. Connect your light (+) to one, then run a jumper to the positive on the battery. Make sure you have an inline fuse on the positive side. Then just run the negative to the - on battery. |

You better make sure with the manufacturer of the light. I bought a an LED light bar that wouldn't work until I bought a 12v relay harness. |

I plug mine into my trolling motor outlet. Thinking about getting a deer feeder remote control so I can turn it off and on with a key fob. You should be able to run the red to the open switch and the black to the bus pannel. You will need a relay if it's a long wire run. |

My Gatortail had an extra set of wires with the nav lights, they were already tied to another switch. All I did was drill a hole for a 12v plug and put a fuse in the switch. |

I guess you only need you light bar when you need your nav lights so it kinda makes sense. |

I rarely run my light bar. Usually just use it to spot channel markers and cut throughs. I feel like running all that light the whole trip will run off a lot of birds before sunlight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have my light bar on a temporary on off switch in the end of my grab bar. I would rather run with out it if I can. It is too easy to get off track in open water if I cannot see the horizon or some other distant land mark. |

It's illegal to run them both because the led will wash out the nav lights unless you have shark eyes. I the GW or CG can't see the nav lights then you are in violation. There was some douchbag at the launch recently that did the same thing and was blinding everybody because the launch was full and he was doing circles. He was waiting on his buddy who parked his truck. |
