i am trying to put a pair of those rubber rod holders under the tray of my excel to hold my push pole and 2 mojo poles. i am thinking about putting a piece of metal from the floor to the tray and mounting the rod holder to it. i don't know if thats best or if i need to try something different. i can post photos if it will help explain.

What I did on mine, wanted the pole to be accessible and able to remount from the back of the boat. Also didn't want it to interfere with the box lid opening. Got a GTx push pole cut down a few inches to fit, used kayak paddle holders (from Academy) for the mounts, raised the front one with some c-channel. The rubber tie down is for trailering (but really not essential). I just lay mojo poles or guns in the tray with the push pole.





I used kayak bungee strap for a paddle holder under the tray.
