I have a 2007 PD XSeries w/36hp Vanguard. I hunt 2 to 3 guys, dog, decoys ect... The rig struggles with the load, barely makes 13mph. Any ideas, engines turns up to 4300 rpms, not sure what to change. |

How worn is your prop? Has it always been this way? |

Check prop first, hooks in the back in front of the motor, then the motor itself. Leaking valves on the stock motor is a common issue which robs power from the motor. This is why headwork and high flow exhaust is recommended as the first items to address when adding performance. Most will see night and day performance from headwork, which usually is addressing leaking valves. |

Unbolt that vanguard, sell it, and buy a Kawasaki 35. You won't ever have that issue again. ![]() |

If your turning 4300 Rpms loaded then I'd def. Check your prop size prob worn out. Not sure what prop your running but it should be at least 12" across. |

Get a Kawasaki and pledge "team Kawasaki" and make it through hell week. Then you can tell everyone that has a power issue to get a Kawasaki and all your troubles will be solved. Go team KAWASAKI!!!! Try a new prop first. If it turns out that ain't you have an extra prop that you'll need one day. |

Buying one kawaski seems cheaper than a lifetime of props |

I actually am not against them. I think it's a great idea however they have yet to prove themselves. I have to run stick motors and no one leaves them stock. There also isn't a single one out there with 1500 hours. My shitty vanguard us around 1300-1400 hours and i am still on my first case gasket, still pass a leak down and still runs every load i put in it. |

Only thing i wish my motor did better was idle under a load and was easier to start in the morning. EFI will solve that problem |

I'm running a three blade for the power, and it will run 28-29 empty. I have a two blade that is supposed to be a little faster, will change tomorrow to see. A buddy told me to get a new cam, and have the valves re worked? |
