 Winching my boat??
So I would like to hunt an area near me but to get to it you must cross a levee. Its about 100' and about 12-15' high at the peak. My question is, can i attached a winch to the front hook on my boat and pull it without screwing it up? I would use a 2000lb winch attached to a t-post and the wire attached to my boat. Its a lowe 1648 with 35GDsd
Thanks
Dont want to mount a winch to the front since I will only use it occasionally.

Sure just cut you 6 4foot sections of 1" pvc and lay then out in front of the boat every 3 feet or so --- sink an anchor on the far side of the levy to winch from and you can likely just push it down the other side by hand with a handy 2x4....
I keep 2x4s and pvc in the boat at all times....

I use 1 1/2" PVC because of rock etc. not sure if the eye hook on your boat is welded or bolted. That would make a difference too. 2000# winch might be undersize for a dead pull. Might wan to look into a chain saw winch. We use them here all the time. There called Lewis winches.

 Re: Winching my boat??
The levee prolly has about a 20degree incline. Would be pulling over an airboat trail.

 Re: Winching my boat??
Like Smoke said, we have several managed areas around here that are impoundments. One in particular that has a few long dykes to pull, especially depending on water levels. There have been times the longest pull was nearly 150', and roughly 20' up and down.
