I want in the next month or so to have a boat built. I want a 19x48 im pretty sure. Gonna have a new gtr on the back. Will be my only boat, used for hunting, fishing, frogging, etc. but wont be hunting in the boat for now. i have a camp in the basin that is a 12 mile run so i need something that can haul a bunch of gear. Not super concerned about speed so i want to keep it stock and 100% reliable. Definetly want a light simple boat with no extra bullshit. I want a 3/16 bottom square chine, but light/average bracing to keep weight down. Lotta rake in the front and lotta flare. I hope to have a bare aluminum hull built and rig it myself. Prolly will buy a motor straight from gatortail. Need some help on the build tho. Can some of yall builders give me a rough qoute for this hull i drew up. Drawing is not to scale. Also im ataching a pic of a boat i want mine to be similar to. I want more rake and for the sheer line to come up more in the front tho. Also any bare nessesitys yall might recomend? And lastly, is there any options i can do without/differently to save cost, aka make it easier on the builder |

I would go wider if u gonna do everything out of it…just my opinion. |

I'm no expert but if your not concerned about speed but want stability I'd go 54", especially if your doing along of fishing and frogging. Will get the job done, but it would be slot more stable especially with 2 guys in the boat if you went 54" |

Nothing 'reliable' about a stock motor except the list of complaints you're gonna have. Build the boat exactly like you want it for the long term, and we can help you fix your 'reliable' stock motor when the heads start leaking this summer. |

I might would go 19x50, but i have a 17x60 right now and its too dang wide sometimes. What yall figure about my design? Id still like it to run upper 20s with a light load so im trying to keep it simple and versitile but speed is not a top priority |

Get the sides a bit more vertical so the beam isn't so wide, and go with the wider bottom. I have a 48 and my dad's is a 52. Huge difference and it's only 4". When you say your 60 is too wide, is it due to the overall width, or the bottom only? Any custom builder will change the beam width so it's not as wide if that's actually the issue you have with yours. |

Im pretty dead set on a 48-51" bottom. Will have to talk with some builders to see if the jump in width costs too much. Any ideas as far as a approx. build cost for bare hull? Also is gutters cheaper than a full floor? Thinking maybe one gutter would be nice? An that way the builder can use a 4' sheet for the double floor. Any yall boat builders wanna chime in? |

Yeah gutters should be cheaper on the account of less welding. If you're going to do catwalk full floors shouldn't be much use. |

Just re read you original post, I see your going with a 3/16 bottom. In that case your going to see a cost increase when going above 48" on your bottom, as the builder will need to use a 60" sheet even if you go with a 50" bottom. |

Thank you for the reassurance that ive got a solid plan. Is it more cost effective to break a single sheet of 3/16 or have a 48" bottom of 3/16 and 1/8 sides? Not sure how much the braking costs.. |
