The issue I ordered a trailering bracket . I have an 2006 GTR . Endless I'm missing something it does not appear the new brackets are compatible with the older motors. I didn't think about it until after I ordered it |

Corey's bracket is more like a transom saver for an outboard. Not the traditional bracket like what a GT comes with. I believe they're on his website. |

Man I'm sorry I'm not interested in the 130$ transom saver. I allready have a GT trailering bracket. But I'm wondering if they are not compatible with the 2006 motor. If not I will just return it or have it modified. I usually strap down my motor but figured the bracket would be faster to secure the motor. |

The GT bracket will work you just need to install the studs it hooks to. |

Your going to have to drill and tap for the bolts that the bracket hooks to. In your picture I don't see the holes. |

I had to install them on one if my motors. I drilled then used a helicoil kit. |

Ok thanx that's what I was thinking. Just was not sure if it was a good idea to drill or not . What size helicoil bit did you use ? I'm still waiting for the hardware but I'd like to drill it out Tom if I can. Thanx yall |

I've always had better luck drilling, tapping, and then Loc-tight'ing a helicoil in where I need threads. I've done it in thicker aluminum on boats too if you need a threaded hole to mount something. |

Those pegs with the pin to secure the bracket are a pain in the ass. We ground out a notch in it to and did away with the pin. |

Don't think you need to tap all the way threw go a few threads and tighten the dog shit out of it ! |

I will wait for the hardware to get in to be sure of the size before I tap it / helicoil |

If the trims holding down the bracket what's the purpose of the bracket ? Isn't the bracket supposed to secure the motor ? When you hit bumps and pot holes , your motors going to want to bounce. Won't that pin move around ? |
