Looking at a weldbilt 18X52 or 56 with 24" sides, putting a backwater 37 longtail on it. We will run some bigger water with it about 30% of the time and shallow water the rest. My question is will the flat front be ok in chop or should I go with the V front and sacrifice mud performance? Thanks for any help :P

I am looking at the "v-flat" option as well but in a 1652 or 1752 Weldbuilt . Like to hear what some of the guys who have them think as well! I spent about a half hour on the phone today with Jeremy from Backwoods landing getting educated, he was very helpful and seemed to genuinely want to get me what will work best, not a salesman kinda way either.

I have had both flat and v and the v does cut thru the rough water good. But the v does not do as good in the shallow water. Is there some reason that y'all are set on weldbuilt boats ?

V-front or V-rake doesn't hurt shallow water performance at all. A V-bottom will have I'll effects.
