 Rear deck instead of hunt deck? Alright, im gonna have a boat built in the next few months for a new gatortail, an im thinking id rather a 18-20 inch rear deck inside a regular transom instead of a huntdeck. I cant see any advantages ti the huntdeck for me. I dont hunt from the boat, and i cant see myself needing a step to get back in for a long time. I want it mostly as a comfortable place for a second person to fish. I also feel like i could sit on the edge and drive, and if i weld it all the way around an slope it back a hair with a couple drains in the transom it should act as a decent splashwell for reversing no? And it will be ~4in down from the top so the motor doesnt hit it when it kicks up. What do the experts say? Yay or nay?

Re: Rear deck instead of hunt deck? I'd rather have the hunt deck and the removable fishing deck that gator trax has in some of their boats. That hunt deck sure is nice for getting in and out in water that's anything above about mid thigh deep. And I'm not old or crippled at all. Also a good step for pissing off of.

Re: Rear deck instead of hunt deck? I think im gonna get the rear deck and regular transom. This will be a tiller handle and I want it to be comfortable to drive so im thinking 20" or so open underneath. Should be comfortable to sit on the edge of the deck and drive huh?
